Congress President Election: Shashi Tharoor interacts with Congress Central Election Authority Chairman New Delhi: Amid suspense over who could take on Shashi Tharoor in the Congress president polls, party's central election authority chairman Madhusudan Mistry today said AICC treasurer Pawan Kumar Bansal has got nomination forms collected, adding that it may be for someone else. Mr Mistry also said a representative of Shashi Tharoor has informed his office that he will file nomination for the post of president on September 30 at 11 am. Speaking with reporters at his office at the AICC headquarters in Delhi, Mr Mistry said he met party chief Sonia Gandhi at her 10 Janpath residence in Delhi today and handed over her voter's ID card. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and other probe agencies are carrying out a second round of raids on the Popular Front of India (PFI). The NIA continued its crackdown on the radical outfit. Raids on PFI are being carried out in eight different states. Several PFI members have also been detained. According to the information received from NIA sources, a lot of important information was received during the interrogation of PFI leaders in the first round of raids. Based on the leads by NIA, police and other probe agencies are carrying out raids in eight states. As many as 21 PFI members have been detained from 8 districts in Assam. Goalpara, kamrup, Barpeta, Dhubri, Bagsa ,Darrang, udalguri and karimganj are the eight districts. Raids that started this morning is still underway. Pierre Poilievre has replaced the Conservative Party's top lawyer with his own pick, CBC News has learned, as he continues to shake up the party's upper echelons.  The party's legal counsel, Arthur Hamilton, has been replaced with Michael Wilson, a Poilievre ally and partner at the law firm Goodmans, according to sources. The sources were not authorized to speak publicly about the change. It's the latest in a series of appointments by Poilievre that include an overhaul of the party's powerful fundraising arm and a reported change to a high-ranking leadership role. Wilson, a partner in the dispute resolution group at Goodmans, helped out with Poilievre's leadership campaign. A Politico profile of the campaign names him as an Ontario field organizer.
