Local news station WDRB reports  John Hawkins III, 36, of Harrodsburg, KY, has been charged with seven counts of burglary in the second degree. Hawkins III is accused of burglarizing several homes in the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park in Frankfort back in the summer of 2021, stealing over 100 pairs of women’s bras and underwear, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department. https://ift.tt/Oj01b3 A teenager is facing an attempted murder charge after authorities say he’s a suspect in the shooting of another student at his  Maryland high school, per the Associated Press .  Steven Alston Jr., a 17-year-old student at Magruder High School in Rockville and suspect in the Friday shooting, is facing charges as an adult, according to the Montgomery County police. He’s also being charged with first-degree assault and three weapons-related counts. The charges come after a 15-year-old male student was found in a school  bathroom with a gunshot wound. The victim is currently in critical condition after undergoing surgery.  A motive for the shooting has not yet been identified.  The AP reports that information about Alston’s case was not available on an online database, and that the State’s Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond with information when requested.  The school has 1,700 students enrolled, and students were dismissed Friday following a lockdo

Logan Smith is said to have studied the jogger’s movements for six weeks before attacking and strangling him. However, the man was able to fight back using his training in martial arts, and he kept Smith constrained until the authorities arrived. Smith had planned to store his victim’s body in his fridge, and use it to “fulfill his sexual fantasies,” according to an arrest report. According to  WLNY , the shooting took place around 6:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on West 135th Street and Lenox Avenue. Authorities arrived at the scene after someone reported a dispute between a man and his mother, who was reportedly a correctional officer. Sources told the outlet the man—identified as 47-year-old Lashawn McNeil—took his mom’s service weapon and began firing at police shortly after they arrived. Officer Jason Rivera, who joined the force in November 2020, was shot and killed during the incident. His partner Wilbert Mora, who’s been with the NYPD since 2018, was also wounded and remains in critical condition.
