Migos had no interest in rehashing their storied feud with XXXTentacion in an interview with Montreality. After touching on the Juice WRLD collaboration that appeared on their June album Culture III, they were prompted to speak about X.
“Shoutout to X, man, he a great artist, man. All love,” Offset opened at the 6:58 mark in the video above.
“X is a legend, you know what I’m saying, ain’t no bad blood with X,” Takeoff continued. “I don’t know where they get that from, social media is crazy. It’s all love man. … He ain’t here right now to speak on none of that, so we just gon’ leave it at that, you know what I mean?”
“Shoutout bro, know what I mean?” Offset concluded. “Legend, RIP, rest his soul.”
Born Jahseh Onfroy, XXXTentacion was shot and killed on June 18, 2018 as he was leaving a motorcycle dealership in Florida. He was only 20. Two men emerged from an SUV that blocked X’s vehicle from exiting the parking lot, firing multiple shots, and fleeing the scene with a Louis Vuitton bag with $50,000 inside.
X’s father Dwayne demanded that Michael Boatwright, the man who allegedly killed his son, receive the death penalty. “Y’all killed that young man that father that son that brother without a cause,” he wrote. “I say that with no malice in my heart. I am seeking life without parole for the participants in the robbery and COLD BLOODED MURDER OF MY SON AND THE MAN WHO PULLED THE TRIGGER ‘I AM GOING TO SEEK THE DEATH PENALTY.”
Boatwright was charged in 2018 with first-degree murder. He remains behind bars.
