Bengals Players Clown Titans on Social Media After Advancing to AFC Championship Game
The Cincinnati Bengals created a bit of a stir Saturday night when they engaged in some post-game trash-talking.
The team defeated the Tennessee Titans, 19-16, in in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs, effectively securing their ticket to the AFC title game for the first time in over three decades. While celebrating the big win, Bengals’ starting guard Quinton Spain took some time to call out Titans’ defensive end Jeffery Simmons: “Fuck @GringSimmons94,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “You can see me with the hand with your bitch ass.”
Spain made similar statements in an Instagram Live broadcast from the team’s locker room.
Though he didn’t provide details on his beef with Simmons, Spain claimed they had exchanged some heated words during and after Saturday’s game.
Bengals cornerback Eli Apple alluded to smoking the “Titan pack” with the hashtag #whodeybitch.
Other Cincinnati players took to Twitter following Saturday’s win, but kept their messages relatively light and positive.
On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will face the Kansas City Chiefs with the winner hosting the AFC Championship Game against the Bengals.
