Listen to Kid Cudi’s New ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ Song “Stars in the Sky”
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is due out in a few weeks on April 8, and leading up to the film being released Kid Cudi has delivered a fresh song for the movie called “Stars in the Sky.”
Cudi’s team shared news of the song on social media before it dropped.
“Stars in the Sky” captures the lighthearted and fast nature of Sonic 2, a film centered around the classic Sega video game character Sonic who has been running through the hearts and minds of fans for upwards of three decades now. The final poster for the sequel also pays homage to its gaming roots, basically recreating the cover art for Sega Genesis’ Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Cudi’s account also revealed that the artist would be hosting a screening with fans for the new film. The track comes on the heels of the rapper announcing that he will be stepping away from social media.
“Im turnin off all comments on IG for all posts,” Cudi wrote. “And im thinkin about gettin off IG all together honestly. Think ima just keep my twitter. And im only gonna do that cuz I have to. I really wanna get off all socials.”
Cudi clarified that he does see all the love he gets on social media, but that the trolls still bother him and that he’d rather let his team take control of his account to stay in a positive headspace.
