The answer is yes, german shepherds can eat scallops but only if they have been fully cooked. You can easily cook scallops for your dog by either boiling them, baking them, or even smoking them. If your dog happens to not like cooked scallops you can feed it dry scallops as an alternative.

You should never feed your dog raw uncooked scallops because they contain bacteria that can cause shellfish poisoning. Shellfish poisoning can make your dog very sick and in extreme cases can cause death. You should also never give your dog fried scallops because they contain too much fat from the grease added during the cooking process.

Your dog may also have diarrhea after eating too many scallops but all of these symptoms are non life threatening.
